So we're offering what we think is the ideal package: a yoga class and a sound bath in the park before an introductory pottery class :)
WHEN: Saturday, August 30th, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (in French but the teacher is bilingual)
Yoga class in Little Italy Park (1 hour)
Suitable for all levels and led by a certified yoga instructor from Studio Corpus.
Come enjoy a moment of reconnection with yourself during a soothing Hatha Yoga Flow in one of Montreal’s most beautiful green spaces. Surrounded by the vibrant energy of Little Italy, this gentle yoga class invites you to move mindfully, breathe deeply, and be fully present in the moment.
- Introductory pottery workshop (approx. 2.5 hours)
Once you are fully relaxed, move on to pottery. We will teach you the techniques for throwing a pot or small bowl on a potter's wheel.
After a more theoretical part, you will have the opportunity to work with 3 to 4 balls of clay to create your pieces. At the end of the session, you will choose your favorite piece, which we will glaze and fire for you.
We have a maximum of 8 places per workshop.

Here’s a general overview of how our pottery intro workshop unfolds.
Keep in mind that each instructor has their own style and adapts the experience to the group.
- Welcome and explanation of the pottery process (≈15 min)
- Clay kneading (≈10 min)
- Detailed demonstration by the instructor (≈25 min)
- Hands-on pottery wheel initiation: each participant usually gets 3 to 4 tries. The instructor walks around to assist. (Spoiler: it’s not as easy as it looks!) (≈60 to 75 min)
- Choose your favorite piece to keep
- Clean-up of wheels and tools (≈20 min) - yes, pottery gets messy, and cleaning is part of the experience!

We recommend that you arrive a few minutes before class starts and wait in our café area. Take the opportunity to grab a bite to eat or order a coffee if you wish! You will be able to enter the studio at the scheduled time of your lesson.
This pottery class is for adults only (teenagers aged 13 and over are accepted if accompanied by an adult). For the little ones, check out our workshops for children or parent-child!
Some recommendations before making pottery
- Have short fingernails
- Do not wear rings, bracelets or watches
- Wear clothes and shoes suitable for a workshop. It is recommended to bring an apron or cloths to dry your hands
- Clean your hands when entering the workshop
- Thoroughly clean the equipment you will use during lessons
Firing of the pieces
Firing of the pieces
You will receive an email approximately 6 weeks after your workshop, when your ceramic piece will be ready. As our emails often end up in the spams, add us to your contacts so you don't miss it!
It may happen that a piece breaks during firing, because ceramics is a complex art that involves several risks throughout the process. If your ceramic did not survive the process, unfortunately we do not offer replacement or re-course. The introductory course is focused on the experience of pottery, not on the result.
